First Announcement and Call for Papers
On the occasion of the organisation of the 12th International Colloquium on Latin Linguistics our thought goes to the person who organised the 11th Colloquium in Amsterdam with great skill and enthusiasm.
Machtelt Bolkestein has left a great void in General Linguistics, in Latin Linguistics and in our hearts.
Under the auspices of the International Committee on Latin Linguistics, the 12th International Colloquium on Latin Linguistics will be held in 2003, June 9-14, at the University of Bologna (Department of Classical and Medieval Philology) and will be organized by Professor Gualtiero Calboli.
The conference will be held in English, French, German, Spanish, and Italian. It will be devoted to all aspects of Latin linguistics, from a synchronic and a diachronic perspective. Papers will take 25 minutes (including discussion). If there is sufficient interest, we will arrange some workshops on selected topics (instructions to follow), and there will be one or more poster sessions.
The deadline for abstracts is November 1, 2002.
The conference fee will be Euro 100. This fee will cover participation in the conference itself, the book of abstracts, the opening reception, the excursion, and tea and coffee during breaks.
The local organizing committee consists of: Gualtiero Calboli, Alessandra Bertocchi, Tommaso Del Vecchio, Mirka Maraldi and Chiara Pavone.
If you intend to participate in the conference or are interested in receiving further information, please fill in and return our pre-registration form within the end of May. In view of the costs involved, it is our policy to use e-mail and the Internet whenever possible. We therefore urgently request that you use e-mail and inform us of your e-mail address. If this, however, is impossible, you can contact us by normal mail; this must be addressed as follows:
